Yes, I know it is not Christmas but . . . I love anything illustrated by Ian Beck. This is a gorgeous book and to me whatever he does is evocative of the years circa 1810.
The clothing and hairstyles are beautifully evoked and the sumptuous colours and rich detail make it perfect for Christmas time. It is also a lovely retelling of the Nutcracker by author Berlie Doherty.
