Daddy's Cheeky Monkey

By author Andrew Daddo and illustrator Emma Quay. This is not a newly published book, as it first appeared in 2008. But it is completely new to my bookshelf. All the praise must go to the illustrator who has perfectly captured the close bond between father and child. The drawings are simple and superb. The emotions are perfectly conveyed and small children will understand the everyday intimacies immediately. I also like the larger scale of the drawings - it is just the perfect book for under fives.
